Supported Versions

BriefCatch Standalone is a locally installed COM/VSTO add-in for Microsoft Word on Windows. 

• Operating System: Windows 7 or later
• Word Version: Word 2016 or later (32-bit or 64-bit)

Dependencies & Requirements

• .NET runtime 4.8+
• VSTO Tools for Office

In most cases, these will already be installed from default Windows packages.

If using our EXE installer, the installer will check for these dependencies. If they’re missing, they will be installed during the standard installation process.

Our MSI installers don't install dependencies for the add-in. If they’re missing, they will need to be installed for Standalone to function. 

BriefCatch installs as 32-bit or 64-bit depending on which version of Word you're using. If you're running a 64-bit version of Word, BriefCatch will install as 64-bit.

Locally Installed

While scanning documents, BriefCatch Standalone only runs locally. It never connects to the cloud or to any servers, nor does it track or report any usage data to us or to any third parties.

An internet connection is not required to use Standalone.
