BriefCatch 3: Installation Options

This article explains the different ways you can install BriefCatch 3, so you can choose the option that works best for your setup and environment.

Centralized Deployment Instructions (Enterprise)

BriefCatch 3 can be mass deployed to your users via the Microsoft 365 admin center under Integrated apps.

Self Install Instructions

To install BriefCatch 3, click the below link, then the Open in Word button.

This will open Word and install BriefCatch 3 for you automatically. After clicking the Open in Word button, you may receive a prompt to confirm the installation. Click Open Word to continue.

In order to install BriefCatch 3 from the AppSource store, your account must have permissions to access and install add-ins. If access to the store is disabled and you're unable to install BriefCatch 3, or other add-ins, please see BriefCatch 3: Store or Add-ins are blocked, unable to install for more information.

Alternatively, you can visit the BriefCatch 3 AppSource page, then click Get it now.

Store Installation

If the above link doesn't work, or if you prefer, your users can also manually search for BriefCatch 3 in the AppSource store within Word by navigating to Home - Add-ins, then click on More Add-ins. 

Depending on your Word version, the instructions vary slightly. If you’re unsure which version you’re using, please see What version of Word am I using?

Word Versions 2505+

Check the “Manage your apps” link in the bottom left to see if BriefCatch appears here. If so, click on the icon, then on Open. 

If BriefCatch is not in this list, in the “Search apps and more” box, search for BriefCatch. Click on the BriefCatch result, then click on Add or Open.

Word Versions Prior to 2505

Check the My Add-ins and Admin Managed tabs to see if BriefCatch appears here. If so, click on the icon, then on Add. 

If not, click on the Store tab, then search for BriefCatch, and click Add or Open.

Word Online (Word for Web) Installation Instructions

You can install BriefCatch 3 directly from Microsoft Word Online (Word on the Web).

To start, navigate to Word Online and open any document.

From the Home tab in the Word Online ribbon, click on Add-ins, then More Add-ins:



In the search box, enter BriefCatch, then click on the BriefCatch app in the search results.



Click Get it Now or Add (this will say Open if it’s already installed)



If prompted, click "Trust this add-in" or "Allow and  Continue." to complete the installation.



If installed correctly, you will now see the BriefCatch icon in the Home tab in the Word ribbon.

Accounts & Authentication

After BriefCatch 3 is installed, it will appear under the Home tab in the Word ribbon. Click the BriefCatch icon to load BriefCatch.
