Centralized Deployment Recommendations
Microsoft recommends using Integrated Apps via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to deploy Office Add-ins. This deployment method requires Exchange Online, as outlined in Microsoft’s Centralized Deployment documentation.
If your organization is not using Exchange Online, you'll need to consider alternate deployment options.
Centralized Deployment via 365 Admin Center
BriefCatch 3 should be deployed to your users via the Microsoft 365 admin center under Integrated apps.
Within the 365 admin center, click on Settings, then Integrated apps. Under the Integrated apps section, click on Get apps.
In the window that appears, search for BriefCatch. The BriefCatch 3 app will show in the results. Click Get it now.
If prompted, confirm by clicking Get it now again.
BriefCatch 3 will now appear in your list of Integrated apps. Next, you can choose how to deploy BriefCatch. You can assign it to just yourself (for testing), individual users, groups of users, or your entire organization.
Note: If this is the first time you’re deploying the app, we recommend doing a test deployment to yourself, IT/admins, or a small group of users, prior to deploying to your entire organization.
After choosing who to deploy to, click Next. You will then have to click on Accept permissions to ensure the app permissions are granted for your users.
This will likely open a new window for you to confirm the permissions. Click Accept to proceed, then click Next.
Finally, review the users you have chosen, then click on Finish deployment.
This will start the deployment process.
Click Done to finish the deployment.
You can confirm that the deployment was successful by looking under Integrated apps - Deployed Apps. Once the BriefCatch application has been deployed, the Status will be listed as OK.
Please Note: Centrally deployed apps will usually show up for your users within minutes or hours. But in some cases it can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate for all users.
If the BriefCatch app still isn’t appearing for your users after 72 hours, please reference Add-in not showing up after deployment.
Modifying Deployment Options
Once successfully deployed, BriefCatch will show under your list of Deployed apps within Integrated apps. If you need to add or adjust the users or groups, click on BriefCatch to open the deployment settings.
The Overview tab will show general information, such as status and assigned users. Click on the Users tab to modify or assign additional users or groups, or to deploy to your entire organization.
Note: If BriefCatch was deployed to a group of users, you can also add additional users to the group. This will automatically deploy the app for them.

User Self Installation
Some organizations may prefer that users install BriefCatch 3 manually through the AppSource store. This requires that your users have permission to access and install Microsoft Add-ins.
Reference our BriefCatch 3 Self Installation instructions for more information.
From the above link, instruct your users to click Open in Word. This will open Word and add BriefCatch 3 to the user’s ribbon.
Note: If prompted, click Open Word to confirm the installation.
If that doesn't work, or if you prefer, your users can also manually search for BriefCatch in the AppSource store within Word by navigating to Home - Add-ins, then click on More Add-ins.
Depending on your Word version, the instructions vary slightly. If you’re unsure which version you’re using, please see What version of Word are we using?
