How many credits does a brief use?
Only RealityCheck uses AI credits. Uploading a document, document review, suggestions, citation-format corrections, exports, and reports are all free.
Typical cost
As a planning estimate, RealityCheck uses about 1 credit per citation. A typical brief uses about 80 to 100 credits.
What changes the cost
The cost depends on the number and complexity of the citations RealityCheck checks. The length of the document does not matter on its own.
When you're charged
- Credits come off only after a run finishes.
- A failed or cancelled run costs nothing.
- If a run stops partway, you're charged only for the citations it checked.
- Reopening a document you've already checked doesn't charge again. Starting a new run, for example after editing the brief, is a new charge.
Seeing what a run cost
Owners and admins can see every charge in the ledger on the Usage & Credits screen. RealityCheck charges currently appear as "Document review". That label is being fixed; document review itself is free.
