This guide walks you through launching BriefCatch Next and setting up your account after installation. We recommend signing in with Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) for the fastest and most secure experience. Launching BriefCatch Next
Once installed, BriefCatch Next appears on the Home tab in Word Ribbon. Simply click the icon to open the app and get started.
Authentication
The first time BriefCatch Next is opened, you will need to sign in and authenticate. This can be done with Microsoft Single Sign-On (recommended) or by manually entering your email address and password.
Note: If you previously used BriefCatch 3, you can sign in to BriefCatch Next using the same method. Whether you sign in with Microsoft Single Sign-On (recommended) or with your email and password, both options connect to the same BriefCatch account and data. No new account is needed.

Logging in with Microsoft Single Sign-On
On the welcome screen, click Log in.
Enter your email address, then click Continue.
This will open a new window. On this screen, click Continue with Microsoft.
If you already have an account, this will locate your subscription and log you in. For enterprise users, this will also register your account and automatically link it to your organization.
Return to the add-in and start using BriefCatch!
Logging in with Email & Password
If you already have an account with an active subscription, click Log in.
Enter your email address, then click Continue.
This will open a new window. On this screen, confirm your email address, enter your password, then click Continue.
Return to the add-in and start using BriefCatch!
Creating a New Account with Email & Password
If you're a new user without an active subscription, and are not registering under an enterprise organization, click on Sign up for a new account!
This will open a registration page in your browser.
Enter your name and email address. This will first confirm that you don't already have an existing account, or that you should be registering under your organization's enterprise subscription.
If not, this will direct you to sign up for a BriefCatch Solo subscription (with a 7-day free trial), or you can contact our sales team to learn more about a BriefCatch Enterprise subscription for your organization.
If you choose to purchase a BriefCatch solo subscription, you will receive an email to activate your account. After your account has been activated, return to the BriefCatch add-in to log in.
- Click Log in
- Enter you email address
- Confirm your email address and enter your password
- Click Continue
Return to the add-in and start using BriefCatch!
