Office Store Disabled in Word

Some organizations restrict the ability to install Office add-ins from the Microsoft Store or the Get Add-ins menu in Word. When this restriction is enabled, you may see the Store button greyed out or receive a notification that store access is blocked, like the below screenshot:

This prevents you from installing BriefCatch 3 directly in Word.

What You Can Do

First, confirm that you followed our self install instructions.

If that doesn't work, and you have access to the 365 Admin Center, check to see if the store can be enabled via the 365 Admin Center. This article from Microsoft explains how to manage AppSource access: Manage add-in downloads by turning on/off AppSource across all apps

If you are unable to install BriefCatch 3 due to organizational restrictions, and do not have access to change them, please contact your IT or security team and request approval to install the add-in.

Help for IT Administrators

Many organizations choose to keep the Office Store disabled for security reasons while still allowing approved add-ins. BriefCatch 3 can be deployed manually by an administrator without enabling store access for users.
