Portal SSO Admin Consent
After deploying BriefCatch Next, Microsoft 365 / Entra admins typically grant consent to the permissions needed for users to sign in to both the BriefCatch Next add-in and the BriefCatch Portal.
In some Microsoft tenants, users may still see an “Approval required” message when signing in to the BriefCatch Portal, even if SSO is already working in the BriefCatch Next Word add-in. This usually means the tenant has allowed SSO for the add-in, but still requires separate admin consent for portal sign-in.
This may also occur if your organization is still using BriefCatch 3, which uses a legacy authentication system. For the best experience with the BriefCatch Portal, we recommend upgrading to BriefCatch Next.
If users receive an admin approval message when signing in to the portal, a Microsoft 365 / Entra admin should grant admin consent for the BriefCatch application:
Application ID:1b1f7b82-17dd-48ba-9d4f-7196ae3f6dfa
To grant consent:
-
Open the Microsoft Entra admin center or Azure Portal.
-
Go to Enterprise applications.
-
Search for BriefCatch or the Application ID above.
-
Select the BriefCatch application.
-
Under Security, select Permissions.
-
Click the blue Grant admin consent button.
If the BriefCatch application does not appear under Enterprise applications, or if the admin is unable to locate it, a Microsoft 365 / Entra admin can try granting consent directly using Microsoft’s admin consent URL: https://login.microsoftonline.com/organizations/adminconsent?client_id=1b1f7b82-17dd-48ba-9d4f-7196ae3f6dfa
After consent is granted, users should be able to sign in to the BriefCatch Portal using SSO.
Please Note: For the best experience accessing the BriefCatch portal, we recommend that organizations still using BriefCatch 3 upgrade to BriefCatch Next. The portal uses the same authentication system as BriefCatch Next, while BriefCatch 3 relies on a legacy authentication system that may not support portal access as smoothly.
